And that means needing more than one Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi. Unless you want to train in a soggy dirty Jiu Jitsu gi and your best submission is smothering your opponent’s face with your stinking fetid Jiu Jitsu gi!

But prices for really good Jiu Jitsu gis have skyrocketed in recent years… $150, $180, even over $200! And what about the cheap gis? If you’ve ever been collar choked in a cheap gi, you know it feels like being strangled with a hemp rope. So we decided to do something about it.

Rafael Rosendo Dos Santos
Black Belt

Rafael began his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in 1997 and attained his black belt from Edmilson Alves in 2002. Head instructor at Alliance Greenville in South Carolina, Rafael is a very technical teacher as well as a fierce successful competitor; he can both teach and do.

As a competitor, Rafael has medaled in countless competitions. His most recent successes include: 2008 and 2009 Lutador Open Class winner, 2008 NAGA Gi and No Gi Winner in Georgia, 2009 Copa America Open Class Gi and No Gi Winner, and 2009 International Open in New York 3rd Place Middleweight and Open Class first place.

Rafael continues his personal improvement as part of the Alliance Team with instruction from Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti and as a part of Alliance Crossfit. He represents and lives all of the best qualities of a true Brazilian Jiu Jitsu warrior. 

Billy Fletcher
Blac belt under Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti

Billy began his Jiu-Jitsu training under the direct tutelage of Romero "Jacare´" Cavalcanti, a 6th degree black belt and founder of the Alliance Team. Eight years ago, Billy began making the trek from Greenville, SC to Atlanta, GA once a week to learn Jiu-Jitsu from a black belt. Mr. Fletcher has competed for the Alliance Team and has medaled many times over including major tournaments such as the Pan Ams, which he was a silver medal winner in 2009. Billy Fletcher is also the only certified Pat Militech instructor in the state of South Carolina.

Moreover, Billy is a Cross Fit Affiliate in his personal training gym, Focused Fitness/Cross Fit Alliance, and works daily with individuals who want to be physically strong and mentally tough, who want to actualize their potential.

Derek Ihnat
Purple Belt under Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti

Derek began his martial arts training in Judo under the legendary Jim “Ronin” Harrison at Sakura Warrior Arts located in Missoula, Montana. After graduating from the University of Montana, he moved back to South Carolina and began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Billy Fletcher and Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti. Derek has competed and placed in many tournaments across the United States including a gold in the 2009 Pan Ams.

Anna began her training with Billy Fletcher two years ago. Anna is a personal trainer as well as an entrepreneur who owns the very successful West End Dance Studio in Greenville, South Carolina. A fierce competitor, Anna has wins in a number of tournaments including a gold in the 2009 Pan Ams.

Eryn brings a brown belt in Kenpo Karate to her Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. Eryn is a fierce fighter who never gives up.
